connect with me
A midwestern girl who fell in love with the romance of the desert, I love ice cream, cooking for my friends, and loving people well.
hello, I'm tina!
March 23, 2017
Lisa was adorned in heirlooms of her grandmother’s veil and Sean’s mother’s sapphire necklace. Sean was wearing his grandfather’s Rolex watch. And Hacienda del Sol was the perfect backdrop for their southwestern chic themed destination wedding in Tucson, Arizona with the beautiful grounds and mountain views. Sarina with Country Couture Flowers used pastel roses and succulents to compliment the soft, romantic feel naturally apparent at the venue.
I have been giddy every since photographing Sean and Lisa’s sweetheart session that was sweet as can be 😉 When they are together it is like the rest of the world disappears as they are just completely focused on and enamored with each other.
I love this story behind why they chose their first dance song that their DJ, Phil with Fantastic Five, presented. Sean had already moved to Tucson, but Lisa hadn’t yet so she was out visiting him for the week. On their last night together before Lisa had to go back to Maryland they decided to go to dinner at Guadalajara Grill, their favorite Mexican restaurant in Tucson. The mariachi band that roams the restaurant and plays songs for tables approached them and asked if they would like to hear a song. Sean and Lisa said sure, and while they take requests, Sean said they should play whatever they would like. They proceeded to play a beautiful song, all in Spanish. When they were finished, Sean said that they had really enjoyed the song and asked what it was about. The band leader said the song was called “El Reloj”, and it is about a man begging the clock (el reloj) to slow down time because his love has to leave at dawn and he doesn’t want her to go. Sean and Lisa decided in that moment that this was “their song.”
Thank you both for an example of what enduring through life’s challenges is like and how it truly pays off when you can finally be together forever. I wish you guys the best and cannot wait to see where life takes you!
Thank you Lisa and Sean for having me at this incredible day of celebration. I mean it when I say I will really miss you when you move to your new home in Philadelphia this summer and we will definitely keep it touch… and share lots of cake recipes 😉
And umm… how amazing is this?! Lisa and I quickly bonded after finding out our common love for wedding cake. So, of course, it was inevitable that we would be feeding each other a bite of cake!! 😂
